I began blogging in 2010 following a rant on the phone to a male friend about my frustrations with the media and entertainment industries. There were fewer 'readily available' opportunities for me and I noticed this was the situation for many other black British talents.

Whilst on the phone with that friend, I was browsing the internet and came across blogs. At the time I hadn't heard of such a thing however, [at that particular time] they seemed to be carbon copies of diluted mainstream news accompanied by images of better quality and style.

This very friend encouraged me to write a blog [I had been writing poetry since 1994 and had also written for local publications including the Newham Recorder] and initially I was super reluctant, wondering who would ever be bothered to read one word that I had written let alone an entire blog?!? I launched my first site in December 2010 and 4 years later it was deleted. To this day I am not sure if it was something I did by mistake [unlikely methinks], or if someone hacked and shut it down. Either way it was a beautiful blessing because, I was evolving and with that I had shifted my focus, becoming more positive and therefore both my interests and what I was inspired to write about changed too.

I relaunched my blog [this website] in 2014 and haven't looked back! I've met a few stumbling blocks along the way but, overall, I've done and am doing great. I write to express, to share, inform, motivate and inspire. For me, blogging has been a great way to reach out, to also be reached and to pass on whatever knowledge, or experiences I have in a bid to help / support others with their own passions and pursuits.

By reading my articles, you have supported my cause and for that I am very, very grateful. Subscribe so you never miss an update and join me on my continued journey in the random and fun world of blogging!
