ABOUT ME

First name Charley, surname Jai. Please call me "Charley". Thanks! I earned the nickname 'Ms. Real Talk' years ago because I often say what others are thinking but shy away from saying. That said, there are certain things I do keep to myself. LOL! I think I tend to come across as quite a serious person, however, I can be very funny if I do say so myself, ha-ha!! I enjoy learning, I'm big on self-care, mental health awareness, wellness, and all things positively focused. Love a spa day, long walks, nature reserves, and theme parks. I'm drawn to anything rose gold, teal, or pastel grey [my Instagram feed might give that away, lol] and I cannot go a day without music! RnB, Smooth, Afro Beats, and '90s are my fave genres.

I feel proud that this blog was awarded a Top 50 UK place by Feedspot in 2017. Here, I have covered a range of lifestyle topics including health, finances, unemployment, seasonal events, and more. I first began blogging in 2010. I decided to use my love of writing [which began with poetry at the age of 9] as a way to positively offload which I found very therapeutic. In fact, my love for poetry won me a local newspaper award at the age of 12! 

I have a passion for personal and professional development [of others as well as myself] and this is what drives me. I pride myself on being a student of life [experiences] and able to share my lessons confidently but with care and consideration to inspire as well as to inform/educate. My entry to radio and presenting was in 2013 and I've not looked back; I love it!! I have a natural talent for connecting with all types of people, offering relatable, insightful, and thought-provoking content. I have a fun and fearless approach to current affairs but remain in touch with the needs and wants of an audience.

May 2021 to June 2022, I was LIVE each Wednesday on FLEX FM with my show, Brunch with Charley, from 10am! You can listen back here.

My overall aim with everything I do is to encourage you in a way that is genuine and true in line with my own beliefs/morals and to offer a platform of opportunity where possible [something I do via radio, through my podcast, and on the IGTV show]. Nothing more and never anything less!
